Van, Texas, east of Canton. Gray board-and-batten with black windows and a covered entry on a simple gabled elevation — restrained on purpose, because the budget went inside.
The main volume is one open room: living, dining and kitchen sharing a single vaulted space with a window wall along the back. A dark island anchors the kitchen end against white cabinetry, and the staging shows two different seating arrangements the plan will take, which is the point of an open room this size.
