A single-story in McKinney with dark siding, a stained timber truss set into the front gable and a wood-panel garage door — a small elevation doing a lot with three materials. The truss detail is the signature and it's repeated nowhere else on the house, which is why it works.
The black exterior palette comes indoors. A textured black wall runs the entry, met by a stained wood-and-glass front door, and another black wall anchors the living room behind a linear fireplace. The kitchen picks it up in dark cabinetry with a matching hood, set against white quartz and a pale floor.
