178 Norman
Canton, Texas.
A dark board-and-batten farmhouse on acreage in Canton — vaulted inside, black outside, and finished the way we finish our own.
Custom home · Van Zandt County
About
the build.
The elevation is the whole argument on this one: dark board-and-batten and brick under a steep roof, with cedar timber brackets and a cedar entry door as the only warm notes. Metal roof accents over the porches, black windows throughout, and a stone walk cut through new landscaping beds.
Inside it opens straight up. The great room runs to a vaulted ceiling with a dark plaster fireplace wall carried all the way to the peak, wood-look plank underfoot, and an iron ring chandelier over the middle of the room. Black interior doors and trim against white walls keep the exterior's contrast running through the house.
